Dear High School Seniors:

The African-American Heritage Scholarship (AAHS) is available to any senior graduating from the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, and Orange. Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $250.00 each (minimum).

To apply for the AAHS, the student must have received acceptance to an accredited college or university and have a 3.0 GPA. Eligible students must also write a one page essay on how their future goals will be beneficial to the African-American community.

Please complete the attached application and mail it no later than May 22, 2010 to:

Award winners will receive notification by May 31, 2010.

Winners of the 9th Annual African-American Heritage Scholarship are requested to be present at an awards ceremony on July 24th 2010. Award recipients will be notified of the location and time as the event date draws near.
